About Hertsaid... |
|
|---|---|---|
Herts Aid was formed in 1991 to meet the needs of local people living with HIV and AIDS. It started life as the East Herts Support Group, and Herts Aid itself was launched on World AIDS Day 1992. In August 1993 Hertfordshire County Council granted Herts Aid a lease on Cedar Cottage in the beautiful parkland of the Goldings Estate just outside Hertford. The cottage was restored and the organisation moved into its new home. In May 1997, Herts Aid moved to Amwell End in Ware, and in July 2003 Herts Aid moved to its present offices in Ware Town Centre. Herts Aid is a lively, growing organisation. The move to larger premises and the appointment of a full time Manager has enabled Herts Aid to develop the range and scope of the services offered. We now employ three staff members who are helped by a team of dedicated volunteers. Our premises include a treatment room, a comfortable lounge and kitchen area and a pretty courtyard garden. We welcome anyone, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or sexuality. Herts Aid operates a strict confidentiality policy. When a new client contacts us or is referred to us, we would initially need to meet them for about an hour either at Herts Aid, their home or any other place they feel comfortable, to do a needs assessment. This involves talking about their individual needs and how we can help. Some of the services we offer...
