  • People often have many fears and questions surrounding visits to the GUM Clinic. This list aims to answer most of the frequently asked questions.

  • Contraception can be a device, drug, or chemical agent that stops someone from becoming pregnant.

  • If you have had unprotected sex, remember you can take the emergency contraceptive pill up to 72 hours (3 days) after intercourse. If you have gone over this time, the IUD (coil) can be fitted up to 5 days after intercourse.
